Masjid Wazir Khan
Through my major in traditional Mughal miniature painting I mastered painting in minute details using handmade pigments, papers and brushes. This later helped me secure an internship with the Aga Khan Foundation and work in the 17th century Masjid Wazir Khan. Thus began my journey of documenting, analysing, stabilising and restoring historic surfaces made out of various materials such as plaster, natural pigments, mortar and bricks, and including fresco and mosaic ornamentation. After completing my internship, I got promoted to lead my own team of interns, conservators and skilled labourers. During my time there we were able to restore the brick imitation, fresco and mosaic panels of the Mosque while simultaneously documenting the various condition assessments of the Mosque.
